Family grateful for honor shown for Orly Lucero

To all the amazing people in the Cortez community, we would just like to thank each and every one of you for the love and support that has surrounded us during this time. As many of you know, the loss of Orly Lucero is one that will be felt by many for years to come, and to see that he meant so much to so many others is a great comfort to us.

Dad would’ve been so humbled to see all the people that attended and participated in his service. Dad was a man of great confidence and great humility. He truly would’ve felt grateful and overwhelmed at the support we have received during this trying time in our lives. We would especially like to thank Efrain Vaquera, David and the rest of the amazing team at Ertel’s for making a stressful and difficult time more tolerable.

Thank you to all of the employees at the city of Cortez, Drew Sanders and Creighton. Pastor Todd Erlandson from Grace Fellowship Church. A very special thank-you to Rachael Medina and Jodi Chilson for speaking at the service. Thank you to our incredible family at Slaven’s for the set up, clean up and for setting up the Santa for Dad, he would’ve been so tickled by that Santa. Last but not least, thank you to our amazing family and friends who contributed to the incredible service at the cemetery and who helped provide a wonderful meal afterwards.

Words will never truly express how grateful we are for everything that the community has done for us and continues to do for us. Dad was a man that lived his life in such a way that his absence will be felt for a long time to come. We know that you all miss him as much as we do every day, and may we all be able to heal together. Thank you for everything.
