6 p.m. A work truck allegedly backed into a parked vehicle at G-Whil Liquors, 24001 Road G. 2, and injured a passenger seated inside. The passenger said his arm and foot were caught between the passenger doors when it happened; the driver of the truck said he would have stopped had he hit the car. The injured passenger had a warrant and was arrested after being cleared at the hospital. There were no scratches on the work truck, and authorities are working on getting footage of the event.
9:07 p.m. A woman was arrested and cited with domestic violence in the 400 block of Riverside Avenue in Mancos.
9:15 p.m. A small baggie with a white substance in it later identified as meth fell out of a woman’s rear pocket at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuuche Drive. She was briefly arrested but later released and not cited with anything because there was only 0.91 grams of meth.
9:25 a.m. A man with a warrant was walking in the 8000 block of Road 25 in Cortez. Authorities recognized him and took him to jail.
12:44 p.m. A van attempting to pass a semitrailer while there was oncoming traffic caused a multivehicle crash near the intersection of U.S. Highway 491 and Road 19 in Cortez. Both lanes of traffic were closed, and the van’s driver sustained injuries.
3:16 p.m. A man retrieved a cellphone while “magnet fishing” at Totten Lake.
5 p.m. A man attempted to escape authorities on foot after he allegedly struck a woman in the face with a cinder block, causing a serious eye injury. He was found under a trailer house at Longs Trailer Park in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Cortez and taken to jail.
6:29 p.m. A man was cited with assault and arrested in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street in Cortez.
7:34 p.m. Two vehicles collided near the intersection of East Empire Street and Mildred Road in Cortez. Nobody was injured.
