The Cortez Workforce Center is preparing to host a spring job fair to allow job seekers to “connect, explore, grow” and talk with potential employers.

The event will be held at the Montezuma County Annex, 107 N. Chestnut St., on Thursday, April 17. Early access will be given to veterans and their spouses, starting at 9:30 a.m. All other job seekers can arrive at 10 a.m., and the event will run until 2 p.m.

The job fair is the result of the Cortez Workforce Center’s partnership with Cortez Parks and Recreation, the Cortez Retail Enhancement Association and the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative.

The event was described as a way “to open doors and spark new beginnings,” whether seeking a job, looking for training opportunities or looking for resources in the community.

Some of the opportunities available at the spring fair will include connecting with employers seeking to hire, learning more about local colleges and training programs, speaking with “resource service providers” who can “support your journey” and more.

The event will also offer a chance to win door prizes.

Employers who wish to hire can register their booth for free, and registration will close on Monday, April 7. Organizers warned that space is limited.

Employers will be able to talk with job seekers in person, do interviews on site and get the word out on positions in need of hire.

Booths can be reserved online at https://forms.gle/RyiJi7cAGE3xYYEB9.

Those who have job openings but are unable to attend the fair can contact CREA to have their business represented at the fair. CREA can be contacted via email at info@shopcortez.com.

“Don’t miss out on this exciting day to meet employers, explore opportunities and take the next step toward achieving your goals,” the Cortez Workforce Center said.
