First of all, thank you for the excellent editorial, “Our view: The president with a cudgel,” (Journal, Feb. 12). You said what I was thinking.
And history repeats itself. The 47th president is doing the same thing as last time. Every day there is a new outrageous declaration. Each time it knocks people off course trying to make sense of the newest thing.
Don’t schools teach history anymore? Remember Hitler? The German citizens believed he would help their country by outrageous enactments, just like the current president. Look where it got them.
The latest, as of Feb. 15, I believe is dismantling the education system. He and his cronies know full well that if you keep the public uneducated and lie to them, they can be much more easily manipulated. I know a couple who want to home-school their kids so they will learn only what their parents want them to learn.
What will it take to turn our country back into a democracy? I believe it will take the average American suffering from this president and all the things that will destroy democracy. It will take Republicans hearing from their fellow countrymen demanding impeachment.
