Thursday, Jan. 2

2:01 p.m. A man and woman were cited with drinking an open container of alcohol at City Market, 508 E. Main St. Another man was arrested on two warrants.

Friday, Jan. 3

1:15 a.m. A man was arrested at Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., on a warrant and on suspicion of assault. The man’s sister reported that he had punched her in the face after an argument. He fled before police arrived, but was arrested nearby and was booked at Montezuma County Detention Center.

12:38 p.m. A woman was arrested near Animas Street and Taylor Street after reporting that a man threatened her with a gun near Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road. The man was not armed, and was protected from the woman via a protection order. She was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order, false reporting of a crime involving a firearm, resisting arrest, domestic violence and possessing of drug paraphernalia.

6:58 p.m. A man banned from City Market, 508 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing there.

7:39 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Super 8 Motel, 505 E. Main St. after being spotted at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Saturday, Jan. 4

9:17 a.m. A man was served two warrants and was arrested on suspicion of theft after attempting to sell power tools at KP Pawn, 24099 Road G.2. Before the arrest, a man reported that the $1,600 in tools had been stolen from his truck at 200 S. Linden St.

2:16 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of menacing after allegedly pointing a gun at a Sunshine Rides taxi driver who had attempted to return a phone to her. When an officer arrived at 516 S. Madison St., the woman admitted to having a gun but said the driver threatened her. The officer seized the gun, took her to Southwest Memorial Hospital for medical clearance and then to the Montezuma County Detention Center, where a breath analysis registered 0.356 BRAC.

6:21 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the Front Row Seat parking lot, 610 E. Main St.

Sunday, Jan. 5

10:45 a.m. A man was cited with trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after reportedly patting an employee on the back.

12:14 p.m. Two men were banned from Walgreens, 161 E. Main St., after they had allegedly shoplifted or opened products in the store’s restroom without paying. One man was cited with shoplifting.

7:48 p.m. A woman was arrested at Elevated Liquors, 530 N. Broadway, on suspicion of violating a protection order that stated she can’t drink or possess alcohol.

8:31 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree trespassing and domestic violence at 600 S. Washington St. after allegedly breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s home and refusing to leave.

Monday, Jan. 6

2:59 p.m. A man was sought on suspicion of shoplifting at Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway, but he had left the store before officers arrived and wasn’t located. He had been banned from Family Dollar in the past.

3:21 p.m. A man was arrested at North Park Street and Birch Street on a warrant from La Plata County and was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

3:32 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

9:06 p.m. A woman at 723 Birch Drive reported a stolen vehicle, suspecting that her ex-boyfriend because he had a spare key. OnStar could not ping the vehicle, and a neighbor said he saw the vehicle drive away about 11:07 a.m. Jan. 2. The vehicle was located by the Colorado State Patrol and the Durango Police Department the next day.

11:08 p.m. A driver who was pulled over in the 700 block of East Main Street was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failing to present proof of insurance, driving without a valid license and speeding. After being medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, he was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, then released to his mother.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

6:09 p.m. A woman was arrested at Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St., on a misdemeanor warrant and a protection order that states she may not possess or consume alcohol. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:38 p.m. A man was arrested at 6 N. Dolores Road on suspicion of assault after allegedly entering a woman’s home, forcing her on the couch, hitting her, choking her for about 30 seconds, and putting a knife to his own throat and threatening to kill himself. The woman said she and the man had been in a relationship. He was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center and booked on a felony investigation hold.

10:02 p.m. A woman with a warrant turned herself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:57 p.m. Officers gave two women rides from Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., to a location of their choice after they allegedly caused a disturbance in the restaurant and appeared intoxicated. About 12:18 a.m., the women returned to Denny’s, and one was arrested on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se after trying to drive the vehicle they had left there. The other woman was given a ride back to the same location she had chosen before.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

11:03 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
