Now this is a letter I didn't want to write, but being a resident of Farmington, born and raised, I felt it was an obligation.
Farmington residents, beware of motorists blatantly running red lights throughout the city's intersections. This is happening at an alarming rate, and many of you may have already experienced this troubling trend. This is not only happening at red lights, but stop signs as well.
Traffic signals are designed to help with traffic flow and to keep motorists safe, not to get one killed. Red means stop, not to continue at an accelerated speed because you're running late or simply don't care. If this is a problem for you, leave earlier, and don't put people's lives in danger.
I challenge the Farmington police department to take this ongoing problem with extreme seriousness, for it may be your own life you save.
