Montezuma-Cortez district schools will participate in Veterans Day events on Thursday and Monday. The Thursday event is only for Beech Street Preschool students and invited veterans, however.
On Thursday at 11 a.m., Beech Street Preschool students will attend a lunch with veterans. Nacho plates will be served for students and those who are invited to attend.
On Monday, Lewis-Arriola Elementary students can enjoy a chicken nugget lunch with invited veterans. The second grade students will perform the Preamble of the Constitution during the lunch.
Also on Monday, Mesa Elementary School will give an acknowledgment for staff veterans and students will have “various classroom activities” to enjoy, while Kemper Elementary students will be attending the Veterans Day Parade.
At the parade, which is 1 p.m. Monday, the Montezuma-Cortez Middle School Panthers Band and the Montezuma-Cortez Marching Panthers will perform.
