Monday, Sept. 23

10:12 a.m. A deputy took a report for an assault from a woman for her common law husband in the 300 block of North 15th Street in Dolores. The report stated the suspected man had two warrants for his arrest and the deputy would request a warrant for alleged domestic violence and violation of a non-harassing protection order.

Thursday, Sept. 26

2:40 p.m. A deputy took a report from a woman about a stolen gun that was planned to be used in a Dunton-area burglary that was being planned by two men. The woman reported that the gun was thrown inside a shop in the 27000 block of County Road T in Dolores after an altercation between her and one of the men, with whom she had been in an intimate relationship. The report states the property owner requested the woman be trespassed from the property.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

2:22 p.m. A deputy took a report for a found stolen vehicle out of New Mexico located at a residence in the 20900 block of U.S. Highway 491 in Lewis. The man driving the vehicle was arrested on an undisclosed amount of warrants. The report stated the passengers were released at the scene because officials in San Juan County, New Mexico, would be seeking warrants for them under suspicion of auto theft.

Thursday, Oct. 17

1:58 p.m. A deputy took a report for an unwanted person from a woman in the 24000 block of County Road N in Cortez. The woman reported that the man attempted to take a dirt bike and bicycle from her property, causing a physical altercation between them. Deputies arrested the man, who was found hiding in reeds by a pond near the property on a Cortez Municipal Court warrant, two Montezuma County Sheriffs warrants and a Cortez Police warrant.

Sunday, Oct. 20

6:19 p.m. A deputy took a report for a structure fire in the 15000 block of County Road 21 in Cortez. The report states the property owner said her husband was showing their daughter how to light their wood stove because the gas heaters weren’t working. They then left so the daughter could shower and be with friends. They also reported that the chimney had not been cleaned since they owned the house.

Monday, Oct. 28

2:44 p.m. A deputy arrested a man on a felony warrant at 505 E. Main St., Cortez.

6:18 p.m. A woman in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was cited with assault, after a deputy reviewed video footage of her in an altercation with another inmate, who refused to press charges for the incident.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

7:10 a.m. A deputy arrested a man on suspicion of DUI in the 500 block of E. Main St., Cortez.

Thursday, Oct. 31

9:35 a.m. A deputy took a report for a wallet that was found at the intersection of Colorado Highway 145 and County Road T in Dolores. An identification card and five financial devices were found inside the wallet. The deputy stated he attempted to call all numbers on file for the man and checked at the last known address of the man at an apartment in a complex at 419 S. Cedar St., all to no avail.

Monday, Nov. 4

7:17 p.m. A deputy took a report for an explosion at 5604 County Road 25, Cortez. The report states the deputy observed a pile of miscellaneous trash, clothing and furniture that was burning, and the Cortez Fire Protection District put the fire out.

Tuesday, Nov. 5

12:35 a.m. A deputy reported he provided assistance to a Bureau of Indian Affairs tribal police officer while she investigated a report of a woman after a male with a knife while threatening him in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 160.
