Mesa Verde plans stargazers night at park amphitheater

The Journal

Join local and park astronomers in a celestial National Park Service Centennial celebration in Mesa Verde National Park’s Morefield Campground Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 7:30-10 p.m.

Participants will get another look at fiery red Mars, Saturn’s surreal 3D rings and a myriad of Milky Way glittering treasures under some of the most pristine, dark skies around. Highlights will include constellation identification, multicultural mythology, and stunning telescope views of the many beautiful heavenly objects adorning the late summer and early fall night sky.

Dress warmly and bring binoculars and a camp chair. Only red lights are allowed after dark. Please leave your pets at home.
