Montezuma County and other nearby areas will have access to a variety of low-cost veterinary care options for their pets this Saturday at Denkai Animal Sanctuary, 209 W. Main St. in Cortez.

This event is being held in conjunction with Ponderosa Pet Mobile Vet Services from 9 a.m. to noon, according to Denkai President Floss Blackburn.

During the Saturday event, pet owners will have access to the walk-in clinic’s essential vaccinations, deworming treatments and microchipping at a “significantly reduced price.”

After the clinic, veterinarian Nichole Ramey will be available at Denkai from noon to 4 p.m. to provide other veterinary services not offered at the earlier walk-in clinic.

“She is offering her office visit at a competitive rate of $75, which is quite remarkable for the area,” Blackburn said. “Dr. Ramey will be able to see a variety of pets, including dogs, cats and small animals such as ferrets and guinea pigs, as well as reptiles and exotic animals like birds. This is a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to receive quality care for their beloved companions, especially since Dr. Ramey is know for her expertise and compassionate approach.”

Ramey also will offer service such as X-ray, basic wound care and other vaccinations such as Bordetella, Lepto and feline leukemia virus vaccination.

She also has services catered to older pets, which includes blood work, urinalysis and laser treatments that are designed to help promote healing for conditions such as arthritis and scar tissue.

Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
