Thursday, Sept. 12

2:16 p.m. An officer issued trespass notices to two men who were drinking outside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. One was arrested on a warrant and cited with alcohol in the park.

6:49 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of violating an alcohol protection order and disorderly conduct at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

10:55 p.m. An officer cited a man with possession of drug paraphernalia at Speedway, 2021 E. Main St.

Friday, Sept. 13

4 a.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at the Speedway, 2021 E. Main St.

11:59 a.m. An officer arrested a man on two warrants and suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol in the 10 block of S. Harrison St.

2:45 p.m. An officer took a report for a trespassing incident at City Market, 608 E. Main St.

2:53 p.m. An officer arrested a man on two warrants at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

Saturday, Sept. 14

12:10 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at Speedway, 2021 E. Main St.

4:39 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing and disturbing the peace at the Dollar Tree, 215 S. Sligo St. after a report of a man asking customers for money outside the store was yelling at them for refusing to give him any.

5:31 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of third-degree assault, domestic violence, resisting arrest and a protection order violation at 1612 Taylor St.

8:07 p.m. An officer responding to a report of a disturbance at the White Eagle Inn, 2110 S. Broadway, arrested a man on a warrant. The man was reported to have been drinking alcohol in front of his apartment and yelling at kids outside.

Sunday, Sept. 15

1:27 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing and shoplifting at Walgreens, 1671 E. Main St.

11:59 p.m. An officer arrested a man who was operating a pickup truck with the rear passenger tire nearly off after colliding with a crosswalk post outside the Holiday Inn Express, 2121 E. Main St. The man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular eluding, driving without a valid driver’s license, reckless driving, DUI, open container in a motor vehicle and failing to report accident involving traffic control device.

Monday, Sept. 16

3:03 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of felony menacing, domestic violence and prohibited use of a weapon in the 1400 block of N. Mildred Road.

2:52 p.m. An officer arrested two women who were fighting at Centennial Park, 802 E. Montezuma Ave. Both women were found to have been in violation of protection orders that state they shall not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or controlled substances.

5:29 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

9:31 a.m. An officer took a report for a burglary at Hunan Chinese Restaurant, 2561 E. Main St.

6:05 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failing to present proof of insurance, driving a defective vehicle, possessing an open container in a motor vehicle and failing to display valid registration at the corner of Hawkins and East Main streets

11:48 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant at Hibbett Sports, 215 S. Sligo St.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

6:13 p.m. An officer responding to a report of a man inside the store with two dogs in a shopping cart at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., cited a man with trespassing.

Friday, Sept. 20

5:33 a.m. An officer arrested and served a man four warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

9:06 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of felony menacing and prohibited use of a firearm at 625 E. Empire St. The man stated in the report that he was attempting to scare the reporting party’s dog who was outside of their property so he fired one shot at the ground. The reporting party said he crossed their property via a field and entered their driveway where their dog was barking at him.

11:13 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess weapons at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. The officers report states the court security took a sheathed knife from the man, and he told the officer the man appeared to be under the influence of a drug, and he was afraid to give the knife back to him.

4:54 p.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at Speedway, 2021 E. Main St.

9:49 p.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of second-degree assault and criminal mischief at 804 S. Broadway.

Saturday, Sept. 21

8:18 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order and theft of less than $300 at City Market, 508 E. Main St. A woman was also arrested a woman on suspicion of violating a protection order and unlawful possession of a controlled substance less than four grams.

9:50 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Mountain View Trailer Park, 815 S. Chestnut St.

Sunday, Sept. 22

2:19 a.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol at the Mountain View Trailer Park, 815 S. Chestnut St.

9:41 a.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing and theft at Walgreens, 1671 E. Main St.

11:22 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at Speedway, 2320 E. Main St.

2:47 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

3:30 p.m. An officer arrested a man who was turning himself in on a warrant at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St.

11:12 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing at the Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St.

Monday, Sept. 23

12:45 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant in the 10 block of S. Elm St.

1:56 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at 317 N. Henry St.

6:11 p.m. An officer arrested a man at Veterans Park on suspicion of shoplifting, open container and possession of alcohol in the park after receiving a report of a shoplifting incident at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St.

6:53 p.m. An officer cited a man with third-degree trespassing at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

11:58 p.m. An officer cited a man with first-degree trespass and theft after a vehicle break-in was reported and a surveillance video showed a car speaker was stolen at Cortez Apartments, 620 E. Empire St.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

5:48 a.m. An officer cited a man with theft from a home in the 780 block of Aspen Drive.

11:11 a.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing at the Dollar Tree, 215 S. Sligo St.

12:08 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:20 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of indecent exposure and resisting arrest/interfering with an officer at the Dolores State Bank, 744 E. Main St.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

2:15 a.m. An officer arrested a woman on a warrant at 623 N. Elm St.
