The Piñon Project is teaming up with the Department of Public Health and Environment to provide a low- or no-cost immunization clinic in Cortez in October.
The vaccine clinic is part of Colorado’s Mobile Public Health Clinic, which helps provide vaccine services in Montezuma County.
The clinic is set for Friday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Piñon Project, 210 E. Main St. in Cortez.
Vaccines that will be available include hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hemophilus influenzal type B, HPV, polio, meningitis and MMR.
Ramona Kennedy of Piñon Project, said that the clinic will help serve the community by providing routine vaccines for adults and children while supporting the community’s overall health.
“The clinics are able to provide routine and recommended childhood and adult vaccines, including those required for child care or school,” Kennedy told The Journal. “This will provide a free and low barrier service to the residents of Montezuma County and especially to the children, to support school readiness and health.”
