Scholarships will cover the registration fee, which includes equipment
Although Cortez Youth Football closed its registration to players last month, the program will be reopening registration because of available scholarships.
Students from second through sixth grade are eligible to participate in the program, which starts this upcoming Monday.
Those who signed up before the deadline played five-on-five flag football throughout July, and that part of the program ended on Wednesday. Tackle football starts this upcoming Monday.
Registration costs $150, and the fee pays for items including a jersey, helmet, socks and pads.
The announcement of the additional scholarships came on Thursday. Scholarships are limited, so those who are interested are encouraged to sign up quickly.
