A Mancos couple and their infant died Sunday in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 191 north of Moab, Utah, while traveling home from a softball tournament in Vernal, Utah.

According to a GoFundMe set up for the family by Tel Hamilton, the crash resulted in the death of Derick Hurst, 31, Shay Hurst, 28, and Skylar Hurst, 3 months.

Two of their sons, Jamie and Dean Hurst, were injured in the crash. One was taken to a hospital, while the other was airlifted to Salt Lake City.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the Hursts’ Chevrolet Suburban was southbound when it entered the northbound lane and struck a motor home head-on about 6 miles south of Interstate 70.

They were described as a “local family that is loved by all.” They have five surviving children.
