Thursday, Dec. 10

11:11 a.m. A pedestrian was arrested on an outstanding warrant near the Best Western Turquoise Inn.

12:52 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after police responded to man waving at gun outside of City Market. Police noted the man was in possession of a BB gun.

3:57 p.m. A Havrans Dry Cleaners employee was arrested while at work on an outstanding warrant.

8:40 p.m. A woman was arrested as a habitual traffic offender after police stopped her for driving with an expired tag near East Main and Beech streets.

Friday, Dec. 11

4:37 p.m. The Colorado Skate Collective reported a stolen pair of sunglasses. The alleged shoplifter was captured on video surveillance.

5:50 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with trespassing and theft after police observed suspicious activity on the 10 block of North Market Street. Police confiscated headphones, a portable speaker, two cell phones and an eyeglass case filled with change. A stolen laptop computer valued at $750 was returned to the owner.

7:30 p.m. A woman reported that her daughter’s cell phone valued at $360 was stolen from a backpack during gym class at the Cortez Middle School.

8:21 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police observed him driving along the 100 block of South Mildred Road.

11:36 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with harassment, child abuse and domestic violence after police responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 400 block of West 7th Street. A woman reported that the man yelled at four children, telling them that he wasn’t their father, before he grabbed, shook and pushed her after she tried to intervene.

Saturday, Dec. 12

1:50 a.m. An officer reported being struck by a passing pickup truck while conducting a traffic stop near South Broadway and Arrowhead Lane. Another officer arrived to arrest and charge the initial driver with DUI, weaving and failing to signal. No additional details were released.

9:31 p.m. A passenger was arrested and charged with drug possession after police observed a vehicle near a suspected drug house on the 300 block of South Valley Road. The woman allegedly had multiple prescription pills, telling police that she purchased the narcotics for the driver at a 6th Street residence. The driver was issued a warning for expired tag and released.

Sunday, Dec. 13

9:09 p.m. Two vehicle passengers were arrested on outstanding warrants near the intersection of East 3rd and Harrison streets after police reported receiving an anonymous tip. The driver was issued a warning for a dirt-covered license plate.

Monday, Dec. 14

1:08 a.m. A man was arrested on two outstanding warrants after a traffic stop on the 800 block of South Broadway for an unreadable license plate. He was also ticketed for lack of insurance, driving without a license and driving with an expired tag.

2:14 p.m. A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop near the city line on South Broadway for a missing headlight. She was also ticketed for lack of insurance and driving without a license.

2:57 p.m. The Rocky Mountain Offender Management Systems reported the theft of two ankle alcohol monitors valued at $1,400 each.

3:35 p.m. A real estate agent reported an open window at a vacant residence on the 200 block of South Harrison Street. Fingerprints were collected and sent to the crime lab for analysis.

4:47 p.m. In custody, a man was ticketed for violating a protection order after he spoke to another inmate while inside a courtroom and inside the jail.

6:01 p.m. A man reported that a U.S. postal package containing a Samsung 2 tablet valued at $150 was stolen from his front porch on the 400 block of South Ash Street.

Thursday, Dec. 17

12:03 a.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police observed him sitting inside a vehicle on the 200 block of South Madison Street.

10:20 a.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and also charged with shoplifting after allegedly stealing an electric razor from Wal-Mart. The man reportedly told police that he was recently fired from his job and intended to return the razor for cash.

1:33 p.m. A pedestrian was arrested on an outstanding warrant near the intersection of North Elm and West North streets.

6:39 p.m. A deer reportedly struck the side of a patrol unit along the 1500 block of East Main Street.

Friday, Dec. 18

12:51 a.m. An arrest warrant was requested for a man on three charges of assault, two charges of child abuse and domestic violence after a woman reported that she was punched five times in the face, a child was hit in the face while sleeping and another child was backhanded during a disturbance at Sleeping Ute Apartments. Police noted that blood was found throughout the residence. The suspect and another man reportedly fled the scene on foot after taking beer from the home.

7:18 p.m. A man was arrested on two outstanding warrants at a residence on the 1000 block of East Empire Street.

Saturday, Dec. 19

1:18 a.m. A motorist known by police to be wanted was arrested on an outstanding warrant along the 300 block of North Broadway.

2:43 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 800 block of North Edith Street.

4:07 p.m. A U.S. Postal employee reported that turn signal switches were missing from two delivery vehicles.

11:05 p.m. A man was ticketed for trespassing and given a courtesy ride to the homeless shelter after police responded to a disturbance at Wal-Mart.

11:43 p.m. After fleeing the scene, a man was arrested and charged with domestic violence, harassment and criminal mischief after he allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat inside a residence on the 1500 block of Arrowhead Lane. A television valued at $800 was damaged.

Sunday, Dec. 20

12:45 a.m. After hiding in an attic, a man was arrested and charged with assault and domestic violence after he allegedly punched his wife in the face at a residence on the 700 block of East 2nd Street.

8:49 a.m. An arrest warrant was requested for a man that reportedly stole a carton of cigarettes valued at $26 from the Giant Gas Station. Police identified the suspect via the store’s video surveillance.

Monday, Dec. 21

2:10 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after police responded to a disturbance at the hospital. The man reported that he injected himself with heroin that he found inside the bathroom at Wal-Mart.

3:28 p.m. A vehicle passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop near East Montezuma Avenue and North Park Street. The driver was issued a warning for following too close.

3:45 p.m. A man wearing a pink glove was arrested and charged with assault and child abuse after he allegedly punched a woman in the face while she held a three-year-old along the 10 block of South Mildred Road. The woman suffered minor injuries, and her eyeglasses valued at $288 were damaged.

5:50 p.m. A scooter valued at $69 was reported stolen from the Cortez Rec Center.

Tuesday, Dec. 22

8:35 a.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at a residence on the 800 block of North Edith Street.

1:21 p.m. A woman was ticketed for shoplifting at City Market. She reportedly stole a bottle of mouthwash. After fleeing the scene, a male accomplice was subsequently arrested and charged with shoplifting.

2:13 p.m. A man was ticketed for open container and alcohol possession in Centennial Park.
