CSU offers backyard food production class

For The Journal

CSU Extension in La Plata County is offering a series of 12 evening classes designed to help you grow and preserve more food for you and your family.

The class is held throughout the food production season, starting in May and ending in September.

Learn how to grow your own food – from design and seed starting, to harvest, storage, and preservation. All classes are taught by local experts – extension agents and specialists, growers and professors – and will give you the tools to effectively and efficiently grow lots of food, whether you have a few square feet or a few thousand feet.

Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.

The classes will be held at the La Plata County Extension Building at the fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., Durango, from 6-8 p.m. on various Tuesdays, starting May 3. Call 382-6464 for exact schedule. Cost is $130 for the entire course of 12 sessions.
